Winter Trend Update

It's finally November, which means shorter days and colder weather. As we begin to start updating our wardrobes for the winter season, we have complied a little, trend cheat sheet of the must haves for this season. So be prepared to embrace the colder season with endless layers yet still be on trend.

It's no surprise Florals are a big hit every season, even in Winter. We begin to see the emergence of darker/moody floral patterned work. Florals this season cover everything from retro embroidery to being printed onto leather fabrics yet our favourite is the brushstroke textural floral prints.

Metallics are perfect towards the holiday season and can be taken on in a variety of ways, from glam to minimal to edgy. This season, metallics were given a new lease of life, with a holographic feel. Our favourite metallic picks are boots and pleated midi skirts.

Embroidery has been seen all over the catwalks from small intricate detailing to more bold statement pieces. This is a big must have for your winter wardrobe, from embroidered knitwear, jackets and shoes. It is really all over the high street.

A textured feminine detail that has been seen all over the catwalks this season. The ruffle creates dimension and volume. For winter, ruffles have been taken on with heavy fabrics and knitwear for a fresh update.

Fur is always a statement piece and always tends to give any outfit a classic look. This season, fur has been given a playful update with use of block colour and ombre in a variety of colours. Making it perfect for a statement, outerwear piece.

Checkered patterns have been present in every season and this season is no different. However this winter, checks are oversized and almost imperfect, with a brushed effect. Look out for this in accessories and coats.

As you may already know Velvet is a big key trend this season. As mentioned in our previous post, its the fabric of the season! This season it takes on a darker colour palette, focusing on berry hues and 90's silhouettes.
